Bitcoin Heroes Frequently Asked Questions.
|
Is this a game?Yes - kind of. As a game, we've borrowed concepts from TCGs (trading card games), turn based video games, as well as Niantic's Ingress. You'll be able to mint/inscribe characters who make up your superhero team. Be part of an episodic sci-fi story unfolding based on inscription data, onchain data, and non-arbitrary non-chain related data. World-building and events are data driven. Nothing is arbitrary (a nod to The Block Runner team, they invented & popularized DMT aka Digital Matter theory). The on-chain data story is the HIROS story. Example : if the great majority of inscriptions are found to be humans, the world will experience anomalies favoring Cthulhans or Aliens. Similar to Bitcoin's halvings, the rewards shrink while difficulty levels grow for those at the top of the food chain. Choose your faction wisely. How to play?Once you've inscribed your characters (each one an ordinal in your wallet), you may put them into play or stake them (see below). Each episode of the unfolding data-driven story of HIROS affects the characters in your wallet and potentially earns rewards. Characters can look different after each episode, battered and beaten, leveled up, maybe some characters have actually died. Depending on storyline, your team may even capture rewards as BTC to your wallet. In future episodes, we'll use child-inscriptions for 2-way player interactions.Don't care about playing? Prefer to stack bags? All good, I respect that. Gamifying a collection in this deep way could get a bit nerdy & DMT can be hella heady for some people. If you just want to join as a degen, simply hodl & send all your mints to the front-lines which effectively stakes them for rewards. A portion of our mint price fuels our rewards pool of BTC, these rewards are the incentive to lock-up mints. As the HIROS story occurs in monthly episodes, rewards are issued monthly, as is the lock-up time period.Mint cost & REWARDS?4032 total mints at $40 each. When you inscribed HIROS, you do two things - 1.You help us/me keep devving at break-neck speed... and 2. You fill up a rewards pool which pays out to hodlers, which could be you. This is a beta-phase, we're testing a lot of features and your involvment (whether you participate in the story or simply stake) is going to teach us a LOT about architecture for the future. You, our day-1 Warriors, will see some big wins in the game. Community comes 1st & Our Day1's come 1st.
Is this a lottery system?Very defnitely NO. This is a role playing game akin to D&D or TCG, rewards exist as play incentives because web3 allows for this as a game feature.Ordinals'n'Chill? What are Episodic Ordinals? This is like Netflix without binge watching, aka the slowest damned game out there :) We have an ability to affect the generative AI on the back end, pulling levers to affect how assets will look in your wallet. Some past PFP projects have had a backstory, but we go ham on lore and data driving an unfolding story via this ability. We're calling this 'episodic ordinals' because we will tell a story similar to a Netflix show. In the beginning, we'll experiment with monthly episodes, but you may see future projects with a weekly cadence. The more you play along, the more you can level up your team, adding value to your characters. How is this a Superfan tech demo? We're demonstrating the use of Ordinals text inscriptions as parameters used by Stable Diffusion - generating images described by an immutable string of text instructions. This is similar to a very powerful feature of Ordinals known as 'recursion'. Danny Yang, a Bitcoin OG and cofounder of OnchainMonkey inscribed the Three.js and P5.js libraries onchain. Using recursion, anyone may 'fetch' the libraries from the Bitcoin layer1 and use it to render code in your wallet/browser with miniscule text scripts rather than inscribing heavy/expensive images directly. This is extremely efficient can be considered revolutionary. Superfan was inspired to take this a step further, creating 'dictionary encryption' to control Stable Diffusion. An extremely minimal text inscription 'defines' each high resolution Superfan ordinal. Rendering in stable diffusion was extremely GPU intensive (aka $ expensive) until very recently. Thanks to LCM (latent consistency models), it's now possible to generate high quality, high resolution images with very few steps. All of this is used within features on Superfan's ambitious web3 social platform and UGC tool. As such, HIROS is a beta test & tech demo of genAI on Superfan. What is 'Episode 0'?We're calling this first beta-phase 'Episode 0' because it's our test phase, your inscription pays for our development. We're going to learn a lot from this round, furthering development for future collections & for other artists who want to launch collections with our tools. Superfan is the parent platform, it's an abitious web3 social network we're building to disrupt the the music industry. We see it as an enormously noble and scalable project - having nothing to do with the lore of HIROS directly. The overlap exists in utilizing generative AI in key ways on Superfan, so HIROS is an excellent stress test. There's multiple layers of innovation here, this launch is just a taste of things to come.Steam? Android & Apple? What's this Unwallet thing?Superfan is an ambitious web3 platform we're building to attract HUGE populations of web2 customers - the friction of a crypto wallet is a hardcore barrier to adoption of web2 normies. We had to do something about this. We're building something called the "Unwallet" which is going to be a game changer. Instead of fixing wallet friction, we toss the wallet out the window from a moving car. We will onboard a huge wave of web2 fiat into our BTC liquidity pool and unlock marketplaces where crypto projects are currently not welcome. We show up with digital assets while abiding by all terms of service. We make buying without a wallet a dead-easy entrypoint... I know, it sounds nuts right now, but wait for this to snowball quickly. How does it work? Let's just say we rely on indexing, MFA, and web2 auth methods (such as Google auth) rather than password key phrases and wallet addresses.Bitmaps? We're huge fans, that's for sure. At first, HIROS will reference Bitmap data as part of our non-arbitrary storytelling. We'd like to use parcels as our geography, but it'd be an abstraction of the parcel data because we're only narrative based for now. In the future, our creator tools will include an environment/texture tool for Bitmap projects. This is absolutely an exciting use case for us because we see this as a missing key element. We already have genAI driven 360' environments working well in Threejs. Next would be texture bundling & procedural walls for a Counter-Strike like 1st person or 3rd person experience. What is the connection to Basepad and Lambda protocol? We'd planned on launching Superfan on a launchpad called Basedpad. They're currently reorganizing, joining forces with Lambda (the first project to launch on Basedpad). That's put a pretty long pause on Superfan's launch while I'm in starving-artist mode. There are really exciting stuff in the works for them, Basedpad is rebranding as Lambswap and waiting for listing on some major exchanges. As they join forces, they'll be much more than just an launchpad. During this extended pause, we're still in good spirits, they're my friends and fam. For clarity, HIROS does not overlap with the Boosted launchpad token, Basedpad, or Lambda - HIROS is an ordinals collection helping bootstrap further development. We have high hopes for our friends at Lambswap and look fwd to being a part of their future success. In the interim, Bitcoin Heros is developing on its own and will launch on Mscribe.io with the help of The Block Runner team.Tell me about your game mechanic? No :) Not just yet. This is our test phase of the overall tech, including the game mechanic. No one has ever done what we are doing - we're taking a data driven thesis to an insanely extreme place, then making it out storyteller. We'll be experimenting with this in realtime & report back via monthly reports about data correlations. Von Neumann would be proud. When can I release my own collection like HIROS or PFP's?Not sure yet, but that is the goal. HIROS will teach us a lot and we'll get back to building based on those learnings. We have a detailed HIROS roadmap, we'll also build a roadmap for the public creator tool after it looks a bit more clear. And hey, suggestions via dm's are open at https://x.com/superfandotfan.Wait, you're using the beloved degenerates for fundraising?Hell yeah! And our mission is to make sure we all make out really well. We got offered really shitty VC deals 3x now and we declined. We smelled the bad deals pretty early. In the cases of a Bitcoin accelerator promising to lead to funding, the deal was even worse. Frustrated, and with emptying pockets, I said fuggit, we're building on bitcoin because we're true believers in the space, so let's find critical mass with the bitcoin/ordinals community and let's give back to community instead of bending over for an accelerator or vc with a flimsy deal. It's been a disappointing experience dealing with investors, and honestly, feels completely outdated in crypto culture. So, we're building with you (and building thanks to you), and will help others to keep creating with our tools.Legal disclaimerThe Superfan AI based Ordinals inscriptions are a tech demo and beta test. Any value prescribed to our inscriptions are not intentional and are not planned by Superfan. If secondary markets allow trading of HIROS ordinals, it is without consent nor obstruction from Superfan. We realize that the HIROS could gain grassroots popularity, and as such, value, but we at Superfan have not created this ordinals collection toward this purpose. Superfan's official position is that this is a tech demo and beta test of a core feature of our greater platform - gamified. Any rewards built into our beta test is as a part of our game mechanic. Superfan does not earn money via our rewards strategy, our rewards pool is given to our beta community 100% without any expectations of promotion/work/effort. |
